WiFi enabled devices come and go in cycles. Those that are used for personal computing purposes have certainly come a long way in size and convenience. The big three in features that consumers were looking for are battery life, portability and of course the absolute must have; WiFi. What looked to be a real winner for bundling in these features into one product was the introduction of the Netbook. Sales were more than brisk for this inexpensive device but now, a resurrection of its popularity is unlikely. The Tablet has invaded the space previously held by the Netbook and the Tablet has become the dominant species.

I am very proud of the veterans in my own family. My grandfather fought in Europe during WWII. His service there cost him the use of his legs, but he was still proud to have served. My Father served during the Vietnam War. During his service he met my mother while stationed in the Philippines. My Step dad also served during Vietnam and was proud to do so. I would like to dedicate this blog post to them and their comrades. So please read on.

Taco Bell is the latest national Quick Service Restaurant group to offer WiFi as a customer draw. However, helping to keep the customer connected when they run for the border seems to be just one part of their bigger marketing plan. Delivering targeted content bundled with entertainment adds to their new approach of point of purchase merchandising.
